Learn About a Classmate Activity

Looking for easy-to-implement social and emotional learning (SEL) activities for your classroom? These mini-lessons may be mini in size, but deliver a big impact.

Activity: In pairs, students use a worksheet to learn more about their partners by interviewing each other. Students then share the answers to introduce their partners to the class or in small groups. Students discuss the importance of making an effort to know others, and in the days following, they put this classroom exercise into practice with people they might not know very well.

Grades: 4-8

Time: 15 minutes

Essential Questions: How can we learn about other people? Why is it important to learn about people in our communities?

Student Action: Find an opportunity to have a conversation with someone you don’t know very well and learn about them!
