The Ripple Effect Project

How far can the ripple effects of kindness spread?

How This Works

Give someone (anyone) a small act of kindness.

Examples might include helping a friend, thanking a parent or teacher, or complimenting someone you aren't friends with. The smallest act of kindness can be the most meaningful.

1

Log your act of kindness.

This is optional. Maybe you prefer to keep this to yourself.

2

Pass this [object] to someone else.

Point out the instructions on the [object], and the rest is up to them.

3

We see how far the ripples spread.

It's possible that the person you give the [object] to participates in this, and it's also possible that they don't. This is not really about how many people continue the chain of giving. It's simply about creating opportunities for giving.

But it would be ideal if you try and pass this on to someone who will be a good steward of it.

4

At the end, we'll notify everyone who logged their act of kindness of the results.

We'll share how many people logged acts of gratitude, and the location of the first and last acts. We will not share any personal information, with anyone, other than ThinkGive and WorkHuman.

FAQs

Insert description here.

ThinkGive is a research-based and standards-aligned social emotional learning (SEL) program that empowers youth in grades 4-8 to develop self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship skills.

We think that might actually be the best type of person to give the [object] to. But yes, you can give it to anyone.

It should be any act of kindness. It should not be a physical gift (like a present). Small acts of kindness can mean the world to someone, so think small!
