Impact Story: Our Sisters’ School

We asked the educators and students from Our Sisters’ School in New Bedford, MA to share their feedback about their ThinkGive experience. Here is what they had to say.

Educator: Kye Mosca

Grade: 5

Started partnering with ThinkGive: 2018

How did ThinkGive impact your students? Students seemed to enjoy the lessons and messages shared and had high engagement and participation.

Was ThinkGive a good use of your teaching time? ThinkGive fits into my health curriculum well and has provided a strong base for our SEL program, especially in frontloading to our 5th-grade class (our youngest students).

What’s a highlight from your experience with ThinkGive? There have been moments throughout the year when students proudly shared their actions. They seem to have a more internalized understanding of the small ways they can give kindness. They demonstrated an awareness of how to be kind to all people in their lives, not just those with whom they are close.

We surveyed the students who participated in ThinkGive, and the results were outstanding. After participating in ThinkGive:

93% agreed that ThinkGive will help them interact more meaningfully with people who are different from them.

84% agreed that ThinkGive is helping them connect with friends.

68% agreed that ThinkGive is helping them be kinder to others.

And the students had some wonderful things to say about the program:

“I learned how big of an impact a simple act of kindness can have.”

“I learned that I can be a better ally. I also learned that I can help people by respecting them.”

I learned a lot!”
