ThinkGive helps young people to experience the power of kindness and the value of giving — learning from their actions and their peers.
Kindness Has a Way of Spreading
ThinkGive helps students discover who they are and see how their actions—big and small—impact others. With educator support, students take ownership of their actions, see their impact, and build the confidence and agency to create kinder, more connected communities.
Lesson Prep
Every lesson plan is designed to require very little of your time to prepare in advance. We provide materials and tips to make it easy to adapt each lesson to your particular group needs.
Learn Together
In each lesson, you'll lead the group through engaging activities and discussions that explore a particular social and emotional learning (SEL) topic and help students reflect on who they are and who they want to become.
Discuss + Collaborate
Group discussions help students process key ideas, exchange perspectives, and deepen understanding.
Students Take Action
Each student decides — on their own — how they'll put the lesson into action. A compliment. A helping hand. A moment of gratitude. These choices are theirs, and that ownership is the point. Students learn that even small actions create meaningful change.
Record + Reflect
Students record their actions, responding to prompts that connect their experiences back to core concepts. This process deepens their understanding of how their actions affect others and encourages them to consider how their behavior aligns with values like empathy, kindness, and social responsibility.
Engage + Share
Students share their experiences, learn from peers, and build community. This exchange reinforces connection, collaboration, and responsible participation.
The Ripple Effect
ThinkGive extends beyond the student. As students act, reflect, and share, their impact spreads—encouraging others and helping create a culture of compassion and belonging. Over time, these small actions build stronger, more connected communities.
Comfort to Courage Zone
The ThinkGive experience guides students from taking action within their comfort zone to stepping into their courage zone. Along the way, they develop self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and discover the lasting impact of their actions.
The action may be tiny. The impact may be huge.
“Today I gave my Dad the gift of saying I love you. Sometimes I just assume that he knows that I love him but it’s so important not to take for granted the words that mean the most.”
“I talked to a boy who is very quiet and keeps to himself. I realized he's a different person once you talk to him. I made someone smile just by talking to them!“
“I took a break from chores and homework and went for a long walk during sunset. It was so beautiful. It helped me feel relaxed.“
“I thanked the kind lady that drives my bus. I now make an effort to say thank you to her whenever I see her and she seems to feel appreciated when I do.“
“I gave a hug to Ms. Rodriguez. I respect her because out of everything she can do in her life, she chooses to be with us and teach us many amazing things.“
“I learned to always lend a helping hand, even when it’s not your mess to clean. I also learned that it's okay to step out of your comfort zone once and a while.“
“I held the door open for a large group of people. My role in my community is to be as helpful and kind as possible. It's important to be a good citizen.“
“I gave blankets and a pillow to a homeless man while he was sleeping. What you do while no one is watching shows who you really are.“
